I always find it amazing how you can turn even the ugliest of spaces
into something magical...
Sure, a lot was changed, but it looks 100% different.
It got me thinking (I know, it's a rare occasion!) about what
to do with my future house. I have ideas for each room, and I
decided to pin them now, and then when we finally do secure a house,
I'll look back and see how my tastes changed and what things I followed through with!

So, room by room...
As we know, I'm a sucker for kids room ideas. Bunting, pastel colours, vinyl wall art... I want it all. I love the idea of hot air balloons in neutral colours (in case we decide in the future not to
find out what we're having). I definitely love lots of photo frames, even if it's just for posters.
There are so many stickers I love. I want a tree of some sort, but
it's hard to know what colours to use, unless when the time comes, we decide to find out what we're having. I like to think when we do have kids, well wait to find out when it arrives.
Pastel colours, greys and creams are much more neutral.
I love that when the baby arrives, you can go and buy
pink or blue accessories to give the neutral room the babies touch.
Oh, and I just adore this crib. I've made hubs promise to build one for
our future little nugget <3
I've always loved this idea below, too. You really must check out the how-to blog
which is on my pinterest account. I love the idea that kids can have a little area of their own
that Mum and Dad aren't allowed in :)
This is one of my favourite rooms to decorate, because it's the life of the house. Whereas I think the kitchen is the soul of a household, the living room is where we spend a lot of time, and where visitors will inevitably spend their time too.
I do love neutral living room areas. Whites and creams look so clean.
The two ideas below show how you can add colour to a plain room.
The colourful inner edges of a cabinet, or the addition of a pastel shade to a
door, frame or window, can open up a room and add a touch of personality to it.
This is me dreaming...
All the above show the additions of wood and stone. I love the cottage-like feel it
brings, but it can also look quite generic.
The last one shows the use of a wall sticker in the living room. Sometimes it can look a little
tacky, but I like this design. I'd have to make sure I didnt end up with one in every room,
or I'd end up living in a sticker book!
These two are beautiful. I like the photos and ceiling idea, but it does look quite young.
It always amazes me how you can turn something completely
lacking in character into a personal space.
I've always wanted a turquoise or mint room.
I like the idea of the study being this colour, as its calming and
very light and clean. I also like grey, with a touch of colour.
Maybe change the pink curtains and accessories to turquoise.
Cut out walls and fill with shelves - utilising the space without compensating on the light!
Fab idea.
Mirrors can really improve any space. We have a huge mirror above the fireplace and it adds so much depth to the room. I love this wooden style.
As I said before, the kitchen is the soul of a house. It's what makes a house a home.
This is my parents kitchen, and it's exactly everything I love.
Televisions in the kitchen - best idea ever. Cook, clean, and dance along to MTV ;)
Islands can either clutter or open a kitchen depending on their placement.
I definitely want an island in my kitchen to help split the room into two.
Sometimes, just a pretty splashback can look effective.
Okay, okay. I know. Who really cares about the bathroom? I mean,
you use the loo, you brush your teeth, you shower... done.
But if you're going to have a nice house, you'll want a nice bathroom too.
I'm not talking going all out walk-in shower, stone masonary bathrub and touch sensitive taps.
I just want something that says homely.
Such a dramatic difference by just adding some colour and texture.
I love wood and I think it adds age to a room without 'aging' it, if that makes sense!
Then there's little ideas like a partly marbled or mirrored wall.
If you've got it, flaunt it. After all, when you're lying in the bath, theres only 4 walls to look at.
Oh, what I'd give to have a bath again!
The first impression area for guests, and pesky postmen and other people who
knock on your front door and end up standing there for 5 mins yapping on.
If you can manage without under-stair storage, it makes a cute little cubby hole!
Maybe pop a little bookshelf in there and a space for a mug of hot tea. Sorted ;)
As always, a plain wall is a light and clean wall. It's all about what you put on it that really
makes it come alive. I love the idea of a quote, such as the one above (the best things in life arent things) and lots of photos. I also love wood floors. Maybe they can get too cold for bedrooms, and
living rooms always feel cosier with carpets, but hallways really suit a wood floor.
I'd love to have a real one as opposed to laminate wood, but I'd settle for either.
Apart from the kids room, this area is my favourite space to decorate.
It's weird, because in England, we hardly have any sunny weather, and therefore spend
very little time outside. But when you do, you want to make the most of it!
My favourite idea which I'm most excited for it to drill holes and add marbles to a wooden fence. When the light shines through, the colours are amazing.
I like lots of light, especially from flames. I like the idea of bottles, but more so, we'd love
to have a firepit. Although you can buy them, we'd probably build a stone one -
they're so much more attractive and dont need putting away in the winter.
Imagine toasting marshmallows on christmas day over a warm firepit, surrounded by falling snow.
Hmm, I can dream, can't I?!
We've always talked about decking, and this is too cute not to include!
A pond in the decking? Ponds are great, but probably more something for the future -
or if we were to get a dog again!
