Sunday Social: 15/02 Favourites

This weeks sunday social is all about our favourites.
I am terrible with making a favourite decision. How can you whittle
things down to just one answer?!
Better make it a good one ;)

1. What are your favorite things to do on a lazy day?
All I want to do on days like today is curl up on the sofa with my dog and my man,
watching a reeeeeally good movie, cook dinner together, take the dog for a walk. Nothing constructive. Nothing that requires any effort whatsoever :P
2. What is your tv guilty pleasure?
Oh dear. I have a few. One Born Every Minute, Catfish, the list goes on..
3. What is your favorite road trip music?
Anything with a good beat that I can bop my little head along to.
Usually, my car CD is quite summery and fun. My current one that I've used every
summer for the past 5 years includes these beauties:

4. What are your favorite magazines of books to read by the pool or laying around?

The only magazines I read currently are What Your Doctor Doesn't Tell You, and less regularly, Heat magazine.
If I'm lazing about, I want something interesting but not too heavy.
At the moment I'm reading a great book written by a neurologist called 'The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat'.

5. What is your favorite snack?

Popcorn! I'm a popcorn addict.

Have a wonderful day!

Cliche Valentines Post

I'm not a great lover of Valentines Day. I'll buy a card, maybe something cute and cheap, but it's just not for me. That said, I'm not a grump either! I just think that love should be shown every day not just on a commercially overrated day.
Blah!

But anyway, Valentines Day + my cutie pie nephew
 can mean only one thing...

My gorgeous nephew and sister :)

Happy Valentines Day folks!
:)

House.

I've realised recently that I haven't updated on the state of the house since my post in November. Although for the most part hubs has been poorly, we've still had a few changes since then, so now seems like a good time to reflect on just how far we've come! You'll have to forgive me for not including the beautiful kitchen in this video but honestly it's just gross. Who needs to see that? :P Only kidding. I just forgot. I'll add it in soon when I can get some decent photos.
For the rooms we haven't had the funds to fully decorate yet, I've included ideas of what we're planning to do to them. There's usually a photo of the colour scheme and then some ideas we liked from Pinterest.

Of course, we still have a long long way to go, but we have the next 50 years to do it. What's the rush!

Enjoy ;) xo

Stop and smell the Roses.

It's so easy in all the madness to forget what we're thankful for.
As times become hard, days become longer, weather becomes worse...it's easy to get caught up in the negativity it brings.
Well, not here! I challenge you today to tell me what you're thankful for.

Stop, just for a moment, and smell the roses :)

I am thankful for...

but most of all...

Sunday Social: 9/02 TV & Movies

Hey guys :) I've had a pretty darn good week this week - I'll catch you all up soon!
But for now lets focus on what we're all online for today....
this weeks theme is movies and tv!

1. What is your favorite thing to watch on a girls night?

Don't laugh. I don't do girls nights. I don't do any sort of nights other than
normal nights. I suppose girls night is about spending the evening with your BFF.
Well, my best friend also happens to be the man I share my life with, so
on our boy/girl nights, which are every night, we like to watch horror movies :)
Nothing beats cuddling up together in the smallest corner of our huge corner sofa,
behind a spread of pillows, with a warm cuppa and the pup. :)

2. What is your favorite thing to watch on your day off?

When I'm home during the day I'm a sucker for Homes under the hammer, and
A place in the sun! Home decor and moving abroad - perfect!

3. What is your favorite thing to watch when you're sick?

When I'm sick I almost always feel sorry for myself, and stick on
something that makes me feel 10x better instantly. Usually, that consists of
something I watched as a kid... such as...

4. What is the last movie you saw in the theater?

Oh my days. Hubs and I have been together for 4 years, and we've been
to the movies together once. We saw Unstoppable when it came out, and we went
with his sisters family :) Other than that, I saw the second Twilight with a friend from work. I forget which was last :)

The last movie I saw not in a Theatre was Frozen...have you guys seen it?
Me and hubs watched it in bed last night. We enjoyed it! I just have one problem -
why so many songs?!

5. What are your top three favorite movies or tv shows?

This is the dreaded question...how can I seriously pick just three?!!?

Okay, my favourite TV shows are:
Doctor Who
Holby City
American Horror Story

I can't leave out Fringe, The Following, Haven...

And my favourite movies?!
So hard.
Safe Haven
The 6th Day
The Notebook

I can't pick just 3.... for real?!

Over & Out! :) xo

Sunday Social 26/01: Makeup!

Goooooood Moooooorning!
I've been pretty sick these past couple days,
and completely forgot to post! Thank goodness I've got these fun beauty questions
to cheer me up!

1. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?

Probably about 15/16. I started with mascara and some really bad eye shadow.
It went from there. I've never worn much anyway.

I started having highlights in my hair at about the same age. And I remember when
straighteners first came out. We did my hair and it was so long! I remember thinking
I looked like Dido. >.<
2. What are your top 3 favorite beauty products?

I wear Nivea tinted moisturising cream every day. I don't like heavy
foundation or power, so the moisturiser being slightly tinted is great!

I have got a lovely Smashbox halo hydrating powder,
which I bought on a whim but it's lovely for when I just need a quick
dusting. Sometimes I'm just popping to the shop and don't want to
do a full face of makeup.

My Cloud9 straighteners are the best. The man that invented GHD's sold the company knowing he could improve them, and then brought out Cloud9's. Brilliant.
3. What is one makeup product you don't leave home without?

I always have a Nivea lip balm with me as I get really dry lips working
in an ice rink. I have a Maybelline baby lips lip balm too as it's tinted slightly pink - good for
days like today when I'm poorly and need some colour!

4. What is your daily beauty routine?

Wash, tea tree oil, Nivea, eye liner, mascara.
Try to remember to take it off before bed.
Done.

Hairwise, I dry it straight and just use the straighteners to add
some curl. Its naturally spirally and curly anyway but it's
so dry at the moment and short that it just goes fluffy.

5. What is your favorite hair/makeup product you've discovered in the last year?

I'm awful with hair products. I go through treatment after treatment,
shampoo and conditioners, everything. My favourite this year so far is
Redken's keratin repair shampoo. Keratin is what your hair is made of, so if you have
damaged hair, it's the only thing that will replenish it. Moisturising treatments are great for that week, but they don't rebuild the hair structure like keratin does.

Have a wonderful Sunday! I look forward to all your answers!
