Sunday Social: 30/03

1. What is your ideal way to relax?
Snuggling with Mr. Wood, Scout our pup,
watching Netflix :) oh, with a cup of earl grey decaf,
of course!

I've got to wear something comfy, too.
My Breaking Bad onepiece is usually the best :)

2. Where is your favorite place to be?
Home, surrounded by the people I love.
Or laying on a beach catching a tan ;)
3. Who do you consider your biggest role model?
My momma. She's the best person I know, and she gives the best advice. She's always
there to help me, not just as a Mum but as a friend, too.
I don't know what I'd do without her.

4. What does your life look like in 3 years?
I don't know! I can barely see ahead by a few months at the moment.
I hope that I will either be in a lovely, steady and well-paid job,
or have been accepted to study the DClinPsy doctorate.
We'll have one (maybe 2) little ones, and perhaps be married.
Oh, and the blinkin' house will be decorated!!!!
5. If you could go back and change one decision, what would it be?There's only one thing I'd change and that's not go to Turkey for
Christmas in 2009. Although maybe it was a good thing - I saw someones
true colours and made a quick escape from something dangerous.
6. What is your biggest accomplishment in life thus far?Oh gosh. I think it's an accomplishment to find love. I think
a lot of people confuse lust, infatuation or convenience with love.
But I can honestly say that we're stupidly and completely in love,
even 4 years on, and have literally never been happier.

And getting through 4 years of Psychology...!

Sunday Social: 16/03

Hey y'all!

We've had a really good week here! For those of you who don't follow my blog, my boyfriend was seriously ill with guillain barre syndrome, and has been in recovery since last Autumn. But after changing meds, he's doing so much better, and paired with the spring sunshine, it's made for a lovely few days :)

Time for this week's questions!

1. How much time do you spend on Social Media a day?...be honest
Too much. Way too much. But I use Facebook to keep up with
assignments (we have a few Uni groups to discuss things) and I
probably check Instagram a few times a day.
I jope maybe now it's getting sunny out, I'll not be stuck inside looking for
things to keep me busy.

2. How long were you reading blogs before you started a blog?
I got into my friend's blog, and decided now that we were going through the same sort of life changing experiences as she'd blogged about, it might be nice
to do the same. I've kept a diary every year since I was about 11, and I was getting a bit slack, so this was a replacement to writing things down by hand.

3. What is your favorite kind of cupcake?
Oh wow. I do love any of the cupcakes from Costa!
Their Sicilian Lemon is amazing.
But my favourite is probably Gingerbread <3

4. Do you eat fast food? If so what's your favorite?
No. It's something I used to eat but haven't for so many years now.
If I had to, it'd be Subway - veggie patty, yes please.

5. What is the most random thing someone would find in your purse?
Nothing that's too weird. Probably something of my nephews.
His toys end up in there somehow.

6. What is the weirdest TV show you watch?
I have to say, I think American Horror Story is pretty weird!
It's one of our favourites, but I don't deny it's a bit odd.
Season 1 was definitely our favourite. I can't wait to find out what S4
will be!

Spring in your step

What a beautiful day it is! It's only 4pm and I've already done so much.
I worked all day yesterday and missed the sun we apparently had, so I was
really glad to have the day off today.

But let's rewind. Apart from an awful assignment deadline,
and being stressed out to the max with the pressure Uni are putting on me,
I've had an awesome few days :)

I got to hang out with Oz for a few hours whilst Kerri had her hair done.
The little bugger stole my smoothie :)

It was pancake day, so I brought round some strawberry pancake mix
(lazy, I know, but it was a last minute thing!) and made pancakes for Kerri,
Mum and Oscar.

I resurrected Bob :) I missed my short hair so much, I'm so glad
to have it back, but a little longer.

But today was the most beautiful day of the year so far,
and I made the most of it by getting out in the sun!
I was babysitting Oscar in the morning whilst Kerri had a business meeting,
so we walked up to Costa for iced drinks.

I filmed this first thing in the morning....

and by 2pm I'd mowed the lawn, sheered the edges and
weeded the whole garden. :) Proud!

It was lovely for us to sit outside as a family and
enjoy the warmth and beauty of the garden.
Many more days like this to come, no doubt!

Sunday Social 9/3: Pinterest!

This week is all about my Bible....Pinterest!!!!!
You can check out my Pinterest right here :)
I'm super excited because this means I get to go through all my pins,
and boy there's a lot of them, and pick out my favourites for you :)
Here goes! (:

1. What is your favorite outfit pin?

I as watching Safe Haven a few months ago and realised how alike my wardrobe was to the character Katie. I love Julianne Hough, she's my hair-spiration, so I love that I can include her here.
This is what I wore today, and I love this pin because it's a really cute outfit that takes very little effort, but can be really jazzed up with funky colour converse or statement jewellery.

I also love this. This is pretty much my summer outfit, except that
I haven't yet tried to find boots to go with it. I usually opt for Vans or flip flops.

2. What is your favorite food pin?

Cauliflower crust pizza and chia chocolate pudding - two things I really want to try making next week! How deeeelish do they both look?!
3. What is your favorite wedding pin?

http://www.pinterest.com/pin/183873597260336595/

I love dip hems, I think they're beautiful.
My future wedding will encorporate this with the image below.
I love the different style of bridesmaid dresses, yet they all match
somehow whether it's in style or colour, and all coordinated with
the same silver sequin belt.

4. What is your favorite DIY/craft pin?

I love this cute button canvas. I've planned to do one
for our future kids, but also one that's a little different for our bedroom.
Watch this space for a tutorial post and I'll explain more! ;)
5. What is your favorite quote/verse/lyric pin?

I highly recommend visiting my w o r d s section of Pinterest. I LOVE quotes.
Yep. The first time in my life I felt this was 4 years ago,
and the feeling's never left.

This quote above is something that really helped me not long ago.
Some people just like to wind people up, be it a nasty comment,
something aimed to annoy you, or just a snide remark.
Ignoring it doesn't just make life more positive and peaceful,
it saves your friendship with them.

The single best thing I've ever read.
Don't ever talk bad about him, ever. If you have a problem with him,
talk to HIM. If he annoys you, tell HIM. If he upsets you, cry to HIM.
Ever since reading this I've noticed people moaning about their partners so much more, and it's such a negative thing to do.
6. Share one more random pin you love.

HAVE A SUPER SUNDAY!!!!

#100happydays

So by now y'all should have heard of the new challenge that's doing the rounds.
It's called 100 happy days and it challenges you to record (blog, instagram, facebook, whatever!) one happy thing every day for 100 days. Stop by the website and sign up to find out the rules!

If you've followed my blog for a while you'll see I'm a big advocate for gratitude therapy,
and this is essentially what the challenge is all about.
It's easy in this day and age to get caught up in the negative. But just by taking the time once a day to think about what made you happy, we're learning to focus on the positives.

05/03/2014 Challenge: Accepted

I will be updating weekly, as opposed to daily - pretty much when I remember
to sync my photo entries! Subscribe for updates!

Day 1 (March 5th)

So me and the Mister decided to pull the cheesiest smile we could for the first day. Well, after all - it's all about being happy! The happiest thing in our lives is each other.

Day 2 (March 6th)

Simple things today - I came downstairs to find my daffodils in full bloom. That means one thing....Spring is just around the corner!
I can't wait! :)

Day 3 (March 7th)

This is my nephew, Oz, stealing a slurp
of my smoothie when I wasn't looking!
He makes me smile so much, he is a lovely baby (8 months) and the best company ever. He makes life happier for everyone he meets. <3

Day 4 (March 8th)

Surprise sun in England today = one very very happy day in the garden!

Day 5 (March 9th)

So so happy that my lovely hubs is feeling a little better. Guillain Barre Syndrome is horrible, and it isn't as black and white as people think. I'm happy today that he got to play in the garden with me and Scout <3

Day 6 (March 10th)

We came across our old ( and
very unique!!) staff passes for when we
both worked at the place we met.

Butterflies.

It made me happy that he could remember the first time he was introduced to me. :)

Day 7 (March 11th)

Happy happy happy couple.
(It's nearly our anniversary!!!)
:D

Day 8 (March 12th)

Day 9 (March 13th)

Sunday Social 2/3/14 High School!

 1. What was your biggest middle school fashion mistake?

Omg. Do we really have to go there?
Can I say pretty much the entire 6th form year?

Probably sporting dark hair. I loved it at the time, but I just looked
like the most depressed emo kid on this planet...!

Then again, my piercing addiction was pretty gross.
Thankfully I only kept a few :/

2. Who were your best friends in high school? Pics?

I had a group of friends that always hung around together, but I had
my main two besties, one of which I still see regularly now :)
This was taken on our last day of school. The theme was Grease.
I'm far left, with my two BFFs far right and second from left.

3. What was a typical weekend like for you in high school?

I love love loved High School. It was amazing.
But I loved weekends too. Usually my cousin would come
round, and we'd go build a den at the park, walk her dogs,
or take our scooters or bikes around the park.
We'd come home, usually have to shower because we made
such a mess, and then we'd play Tony Hawks or Dance Machine on
the Playstation, rent a film from Blockbuster and chill out.
4. Did you have any boyfriends/girlfriends? Tell us about that.

During High School, I think we all have those silly childish 'we're going out' kind of relationships, but nothing was ever serious. Thinking back to then,
it feels like someone else's life. I only had eyes for James Marsters
5. Did you have any secret codes with your friends? Spill your secrets!

Me and my sister had a secret language.
I can't remember any of it now but I bet she can!
6. If you could relive one day/moment/experience from middle school or high school, what would it be?

I miss playing hide and seek around the entire school. It was amazing,
we always had so much fun!
