Pumpkin Carving

 Happy Halloween week, folks!

Well, we didn't get to go to the pumpkin patch in the end - we called up
but they'd had such a bad season. We were going to go to the pumpkin day but
with hubs being poorly still, we decided to buy our own pumpkins and carve them at home
in front of the fire with a cuppa :)

Well, mine was an epic fail. But I got some nice photos...

Yes, I'm a geek and tried to carve a Cyberman but the intricate detail
meant it wasn't sturdy enough and when I got to the eyes, the pumpkin
just caved in :'(

So I bought a bigger one and viola...

But anyway...we have the best pumpkin of all that doesn't need
any carving....

Sunday Social 27/10: Halloween!

Sunday Social

Hey guys :)

I know, I know, it's been another week without a new post. I've been crazy busy with home, uni and work, but I have a few lined up.

Today's questions are all about Halloween!

1. What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid?

I can only remember dressing up twice - once as a Scream killer, and once as a dead cheerleader. I loved both :)

2. If you could go back to your childhood and dress up as something, what would it be?

Just like Ashley, I always wanted to be the Pink Power Ranger!!

3. What was your favorite Halloween costume as an adult?

I don't dress up as an adult. I know :( But I don't like going out so who's
going to see it? The last time I dressed up was in 2009... me and my sister were dead school girls.
Really, we just wanted an excuse to wear converse on a night out.

Thats me on the right :)

4. What is your favorite Halloween candy?
I'm not a huge candy lover, but there are toffee biscuits that came out for halloween and theyre delish!

5. What is your favorite Halloween memory?
Taking in turns to dress as Scream and chase our friends around,
watching Scream (we were only kids so it was a huge deal!) and trick or treating.

6. What is your favorite scary movie?

I have so many its ridiculous. Scream was my favourite all through high school,
but now there are so many I can't choose!

Your turn! Answer the questions, grab the button, and link up!

Next week's questions

1. What is currently on your wish list?
2. Share a new iPhone, droid, iPad app that you have recently discovered that we all need.
3. What is a new fall tv show that you have added to your dvr?
4. Share your social media links so we can follow you. (Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, etc) Tell us which is your favorite and why.
5. What is a tv show, movie, or song that you could watch or listen to over and over and never get tired of?

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Tattoo Aftercare

I recently added another tattoo to my collection and wanted to share with you guys the most amazing aftercare product I've used.

Of course, there are loads of different products for tattoo aftercare.
The studios here recommend Bepanthem or Sudocream, two types of nappy rash
cream, which I know a lot of people use. There are pricier alternatives, too,  made by specialist companies. Tattoo Goo has some great reviews, as does H2Ocean - a foam version that uses a salt concentration to prevent infection.

However, my tattoo studio (Spike at the Art) stocks this beauty by The Aftercare Company....

Now, at £5 for this little pot, I was aprehensive, but it was worth every penny.
The feel is reminiscent of vaseline, but not greasy or sticky, and it smells lovely.

Totally natural and brilliant, I apply it 3 times a day, inc. first thing in the morning and last thing at night. I've used it on all my tattoos except the two on my back, and it really is the best product I've tried. It soaks in immediately, and you only need a little bit as it goes so far. It keeps the tattoo moist (sorry, I hate that word too!) and stops the scab from drying and forming. Instead, you won't develop a scab, it'll just gradually heal storing the colour better, and flake off in small amounts - much better for a lasting tattoo.

It's also a great skin treatment. I use it on spots, bruises, dry skin....its totally versatile and
the fact that it's 100% natural makes it that much better!

10/10!

Oh, and my tattoo? Well, it's just for hubs, so use your imagination!
The text is just for us, but I'll share the placement with you.
This is a photo I found on Pinterest that I used as reference for the placement.

Sunday Social 20/10: LIFE

Sunday Social

Hey y'all!

I've had so much going on these past few weeks, my blogging seems to have
taken a hiatus. But I'll be back on form soon with some exciting news ;)

Anyway, here goes...

1. What do you value most in life?
There's a popular quote that says 'the best things in life aren't things' and it's so true.
This experience (with hubs being poorly) put things into perspective and has taught me, not that I didn't believe this to begin with, that the most valuable things in life are health, and love.

2. What do you think is the greatest invention in your life and why?
Mobile phones.

3. What do you think is the secret to a good life?
I think the secret to a good life is havinga positive outlook and
not concentrating on the bad. Also, not clinging onto the past and letting it consume you.
It happened, let it go, and focus on the future!

4. What would you most like to be remembered for when you're gone?
For helping people.

5. What accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?
So far, buying a house and completing 2 degrees!

Your turn! Answer the questions, grab the button, and link up!

Next week's questions

These are all about Halloween fun!

1. What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid?
2. If you could go back to your childhood and dress up as something, what would it be?

4. What is your favorite Halloween candy?
5. What is your favorite Halloween memory?
6. What is your favorite scary movie?

Sunday Social 13/10: Blogging!

Sunday Social

Hey folks.
Can I firstly start on a not-so-positive note and ask you all for positive thoughts,
prayers, whatever you prefer... for my beautiful boyfriend who is poorly in hospital at the moment.
It's been a hard few weeks, especially this past week, and I'd really appreciate you keeping
a place in your thoughts today for him.

Now, onto what this post is all about!
This week is  all about blogger firsts!
I usually add lots of photos but I'm borrowing my Mum's laptop
whilst hubs has mine in hospital, so unless you want a gazillion photos of
hair, my nephew, or my parents holiday to Thailand (believe me, you don't!)....

1. What is the first blog you ever followed?

I was never into blogging before this one. I think the first one I subscribed to and cared about
was my good friend Joanna's blog Running on Sunshine after I found her Instagram account and just loved her updates and photos. Definitely check it out!!

2. What was your first blog post about?

Well, I have a private blog too and the first post there was just pretty much my entire
2010 diary (handwritten one) typed onto the blog, with photos added from iPhoto.
My first post here was about my tattoos, and the story behind them all.

3. Who left you your first blog comment?

Umm, my sister?! In fact, when I was 100% new to blogging, I think I accidentally
commented on my own post...so...ME! :P Haha!

4. Who was the first blogger you ever met in person?

I don't think I've met any bloggers. I've met Lyzi from Being Little but that was
nearly 10 years ago before she was a known blogger. Another good blog to check out! ;)

5. What was your first "blogging milestone"?

Ooh, I think finding Sunday Social and realising I could link up with a community out there
who were a lot like myself. I love reading everyone's comments, and their own linkups!

Keep it up ;) Don't forget to link up over at Ashley's page.

Sunday Social 05/09: Childhood

Sunday Social

Hey guys. I hope you're all having a lovely Sunday!
This week, we're talking about childhood
I was a classy kid...

1. What were you like in primary school and high school?

In primary school I had two best friends, but everyone was friends with everyone.
I missed that in high school. I loved break times and making up dance routines to the Spice
Girls in the playground, and I always looked forward to the summer fairs and sports days.
I wasn't in a click because our school didn't have them. I was really shy, too.

<-- Me, My Sister -->

In high school, I wasn't popular, but I wasn't unpopular.

I had my group of friends and, despite a few arguments now and again, we were always there for each other and had a great time.
I always wish I left my hair like this instead of cutting and dyeing it dark
as soon as I left school.

2. What were your favorite pastimes?

I had lots of favourite hobbies as a child.
I loved spending weekends with my cousin. We'd build treehouses (gaffa tape and sticks - natures nightmare!) and dens at the park, and at home we'd play on the megadrive.
I also loved Sundays, because we'd wake up to the smell of Mums roast dinner cooking, our uniforms being washed, and we'd get to play on The Sims or go to Blockbuster and rent a VHS and get some popcorn and pick-n-mix.

3. What songs were you obsessed with?

To be honest, anything by Britney or the Spice Girls.

4. What fashion statement do you look backing and cringe?
Is there ANY excuse?

Or this?!

5. Who was your celeb crush?

6. What was your favorite movie?

Yeah, baby!

I can't wait to read your answers!
Link-up and join in :)
